3.) Parent PLUS Loan (1-3 days to process): Parents of dependent students may apply for a PLUS loan to pay the annual balance due. This loan program is only available to U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens and they are subject to credit analysis when determining eligibility. Parents may borrow up to the cost of education less any financial aid already received. Loan repayment begins within 30 days after the loan is fully disbursed for that academic year or you may request a deferment. Parents may apply online at www.studentloans.gov. Beginning in 2011, a student must have a completed FAFSA on file to qualify for the Plus Loan. The Direct Parent PLUS Loan offers a fixed 7.08% interest rate for the 2019-2020 school year. Must complete Parent PLUS Loan MPN for JWU to certify the loan.
Includes origination fee: please contact your assigned financial planning if you need assistance. |
4.) Private Loans (1-3 weeks to process, depending on the lender): These loans are for credit-worthy borrowers and are not based on financial need. Most student borrowers require a credit-worthy co-signer. You may borrow up to the cost of education less any financial aid already received. Special Note: Borrowers can select any lender approved by the Department of Education. Please visit our website here for a list of preferred lenders. You are not required to use one of Johnson & Wales' recommended lenders and will suffer NO penalties for selecting a lender, not on the list.
