Step 1. Accommodations Approved: Make an Appointment

Once an accommodation has been approved, you will be notified by email and asked to make an appointment with disability services.

Step 2. Attend Appointment: Pick up Accommodation Certificate

During this initial meeting, you will be given copies of a certificate listing your approved accommodations. We will discuss:

  • how to disclose your needs to your instructors and supply them with the certificate,
  • scheduling accommodated tests, and
  • answer any questions you might have.

Step 3. Pick Up a New Accommodation Certificate Each Term

Each term you are encouraged to make an appointment to pick up new accommodation certificate from the disability services office. This short meeting is also a time to bring up any concerns about the upcoming term, ask questions, and review accommodation needs.

Technical Standards

Many programs of study at JWU have technical standards. This includes Culinary, Baking and Pastry, and various programs in the School of Management. Copies of the standards are available in the course catalog.

Technical standards cannot be modified, but applicants and students with disabilities should contact the Disability Services Office (303-256-9451) to discuss the availability of reasonable accommodations where appropriate.
