Conducting legal research?

This guide contains selected free online legal research resources. These resources can be a great way to get started with your research when you don't have access to paid databases or if you want to get an overview of a topic before getting started with potentially expensive searches.

Our new Free Legal Research Resources guide includes: primary federal law, primary state law, treaties, foreign and international law, secondary sources, and empirical sources.

Subject Guides

You may be familiar with library class guides, embedded librarians and even the research process guide but have you explored the Library's subject guides?

Subject guides are created to help you find resources both within and outside of the library based on topics and research ideas that support JWU's curriculum. These guides will point you to best resources included books, periodicals, databases and even websites.

Did You Know?

In the Library's Databases A-Z guide, you can limit databases by subject such as Business or Culinary. You can also limit by database type such as streaming videos or ebooks.
