JWU Librarians Giving Back

The library dedicated the month of November to helping Project Angel Heart (PAH). PAH was founded in 1991 by Charles Robbins. His mission was to deliver nutritious meals to improve quality of life, at no cost, for those coping with life-threatening illness.

In November, the librarians participated in PAH's Pie In The Sky fundraising initiative with the goal of selling at least 8 pies. Each pie sold allows PAH to provide three medically tailored meals to clients in need. In total, the library sold 13 pies and raised more than <<xx dollars>>!

The Librarians also sponsored a PAH meal bag decorating program during the Fall term. The program allows people (i.e., JWU students!) with limited time a way to support PAH clients. Weekly meal deliveries arrive in bags decorated by the volunteers.

JWU students, staff and faculty took time from their busy schedules to de-stress during finals week and color meal bags. In total, the JWU community decorated 50 colorful and unique bags!

Green Dot Bingo

On Thursday, October 22, 2015 the JWU Denver Library, Wildcat Wellness Council and the Green Dot Team cosponsored the 3rd annual Green Dot Bingo in the Library. The Student Government Association, Psychology Club, Criminal Justice Association and Denver Track Cross Country team all sponsored rounds of Bingo, calling out the infamous B-12 and awarding prizes.

Green Dot is a nation wide movement to empower students on college campus to take proactive action to stop sexual assault, domestic, and power-based violence in their communities. Keep a look out for next year's Green Dot Bingo and for the now famous Green Dot Punch!
